A Day of
Liberation
& Heritage

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 — the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

In Barcelona, we honor this history, celebrate Black culture, and build bridges across the African diaspora living in and visiting the city.

"A city meaningfully connected to the African diaspora — whose stories deserve to be told."
